O's Walk Off In Ninth Inning Thriller

The magic continues...the Birds walked-off in the ninth inning with a 3-2 win over Tampa Bay on Wednesday night.

Nate McLouth was the hero this time with the game-winning hit, a single off the right field wall that plated Manny Machado. Machado had singled to start the inning after ending the eighth with a spectacular defensive play. Both players got the obligatory shaving cream pie to the face after the game...

Things started off awkwardly, as Miguel Gonzalez served up a solo homer to the very first batter he faced. Gonzalez settled down though, allowing just two runs on six hits and five walks while striking out four over six innings. Jim Johnson (2-1) picked up the win.

The O's have now taken two of three from the Rays and remain tied for first in the East with the Yankees. The Birds finish off the seven-game homestand tomorrow afternoon...Wei-Yin Chen is slated to take the mound.
