Brian Matusz turned in his shortest outing of the season and the O's were blanked on four hits in a 7-0 drubbing by the Red Sox on Thursday night.
Matusz lasted just two innings, giving up five runs (four earned) on four hits and FIVE walks...he needed 67 pitches to record six outs. Devastating.
Of course, the offense was nowhere to be found, and the defense was lacking as the Birds committed another two errors.
The O's still managed to take the series and head home after going 3-6 on this divisional road trip in a tie for first with Tampa Bay.
Jake Arrieta takes the mound Friday night as the Birds kick-off another round of Interleague play starting with the Philadelphia Phillies.
